For my birthday, I have treated myself to a warm house. Nich is very, um, frugal, and likes to keep the heater just a notch above the temperature where we would freeze to death. So, today, unbenkownst to him (he's at work), I have cranked up the heat, and am celebrating the warmth in my new Esprit t-shirt.

It's been a wonderful birthday so far. Peaceful, but wonderful. It's a no-chore day (unless you count the load of wash I'm doing- I love clean sheets, so I'm going to make the bed perfectly as another present to myself. yes. I give presents to myself. don't you?) so I've been playing gleefully with my girls. And it's been way too much fun. Why don't I do this everyday?

I set up a Lambchop puppet show for them (I was Lambchop, they were the audience) and we played 'Lambchop says' (you know, instead of 'Simon Says')and other games. We played Legos, and chase Pinkie Pie Pony. We had our daily morning dance party, to her new favourite song, 'Pollywog in a Bog', by the Barenaked Ladies. We ate cupcakes for lunch, with a side of cheese. And Nich brought me a Starbucks Mocha, a Lowfat Fruit bar, and he dropped off a HUGE birthday gift basket (the size of Eva) from our wonderful boss, full of lots of yummy goodies.

Annd, in a couple hours I am going to get my hair done- another present to myself (gifts are my love language, k?). And then, my better half is taking me out to a nice dinner.

Does it get any better?

Oh, but it does. All you wonderful friends and family have made my day by wishing me Happy Birthday on Facebook. Thanks for your birthday wishes, and for making a girl feel special. You're the best.
