American Eagle Kids
I am taking a quick break from my 'blogging break' to bring you a pointless post. But, one I am rather excited to share with you.

I shared a while back about how excited I was that American Eagle debuted a kids line for sizes 2 and up. I was stoked, until I filled my shopping cart, and they added taxes and duty and a HUGE shipping fee.

Well, over the weekend (and today is the last day!) they had a huge sale, buy one (of anything!) and get one (of anything!) 50% off. And the best is yet to come: FREE shipping to your Canadian home. YAH!

I am so thrilled, even the clearance items were included in the Buy One, Get One sale. How can I resist the cuteness? I got Eva this hoodie:

And Katy-kins this hoodie:
I love it when online American stores cater to their Canadian neighbours.

A little break
Sigh. I just might take a bit of a blogging break for awhile. Life is a bit of a zoo at the moment. And, I can't seem to find two spare minutes to blog.

In the meantime, happy Christmas shopping, Gingerbread latte drinking, and all that other fantastic holiday stuff.

Homemade goodness

I am about to make your day....well, actually, this cool lady is about to make your day. She sent me the recipe to make homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte Syrup.

Is your mouth watering yet?

I whipped some up last week, and it is delicious! And, completely guilt-free, since you're not shelling out a whopping $4.00 at the coffee shop.

Click here for the link. And, happy budget-conscious pumpkin spice latte drinking!

Eva Lynn
This girl amazes me. She is smart, witty, loving and hilarious. Just an all-around fun girl to hang out with.

Ever since we took the "dewy" (pacifier) away a few months ago (dentists orders!), she has rarely been napping. But, she often happily plays or reads in her room for an hour and a half, so I can't complain! When she wanders downstairs after "quiet time", we usually have a fun snack together, and sit on the couch and talk. I ask her about her friends, and she always has something funny to say. We chat about our favourite parts of the day so far, and what she would like to do that afternoon. And, often, she'll ask if I want to know a secret, which is usually something like "You're the apple of my eye" and other adorable sayings. It's fun.

She loves her sister, and LOVES the new kitty. She wraps him in a blanket, cradles him, sings him songs- it's pretty cute to watch.

She is acting so big, and she looks big, too. Everyone always asks what grade she is in. Which is making me think it might be a good idea to start her in Kindergarten this next year, instead of waiting. I don't want her to tower over the other kids too much. Then she really wouldn't fit in.

Eva's favourite things to do around the house are- dancing around the house like a ballerina, practicing her gymnastics, playing Chutes & Ladders or Candyland, and playing with little Barbie accessories. She sits at the table for hours each day, just playing with her Barbie stuff (or Polly Pockets, but we seem to have lost them- they are so darn small!)

She's such a good "kid". I can't believe she is officially a "kid" now. The toddler in her is very much long gone, sniff sniff. But, I'm enjoying her independence, and loving that she is becoming a fun, little friend.

Katy-kins
This little girl is almost 19 months old. I can't believe it! She is so sweet, and her adorable pigtails just kill me.

Some Kaitlyn highlights:

-She says "Eva" now, just like Caleb used to say it- "Eeya"

-She climbs on everything

-She still ends most mealtimes by throwing either food or her cup on the floor. This happens no matter we do. We tried disciplining, we tried ignoring, we tried gently reminding, and we try catching things before they fly to the air. All to no avail.

-She loves saying "E-I-E-I-O" and once, when she was happy about something, she raised her hands in the air and proclaimed "YAY! E-I-E-I-O!"

-Instead of time-out around here, we do "nose-on-the-wall" (which is the same thing as time out, really). Eva gets sent to put her nose on the wall every once in awhile, and Kaitlyn thinks this is too funny, and comes up beside Eva and puts her nose on the wall too. Then, they both burst out laughing...and I do too, because, really, it's just hilarious. (and, no, i'm not always a pushover, i'm just telling you the funny stories)

-If I'm ever in a semi-reclining position on the couch, she'll climb on my lap and ask for a horsey ride.

-When her Daddy comes home from work at the end of the day, she runs to the door, yells "DADDYYY" and greets him with a huge hug. Nich says it's his favourite time of day.

She's a very sweet girl, and we just love her to pieces.

Starbucks Christmas
So, I'll be honest, I'm in the middle of a really bad week. I won't get into it, but I will say that Christmas at Starbucks couldn't have come at a better time. When Nich came home from work, he handed me a Gingerbread Latte with a smile, and for five minutes, I was in coffee heaven, and my worries melted away.

This is my favourite time of year, and is it bad that I've already snuck a Christmas cd in my car, and rocked out to Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas is You"...with the girls clapping in the backseat?
