Quick Update
Holy wow. It's hard to keep your blog updated when you're never home. Here is what is going on at the Braam house.

- This working mom gig has kicked me in the butt. I can't seem to get organized and my list of stuff to do around the house is long, very long.

- Eva has rosy cheeks. Cute, adorable, TEETHING rosy cheeks. Molar #4 (yes, folks #3 poked thru a couple days ago) will be breaking through any moment.

-I'm enjoying work. I am. I'm going to be sad when it's over.

And that is all.

Breaking News
I was doing my weekly tooth check in Eva's mouth (this is done very stealthily during tickle time, for the only time I can get away with sticking my finger in her mouth is while she is laughing) and VOILA, the kid has two molars.

Crazy!

When did those break through??

My Starbucks Order
I love lattes. I was just visiting a Starbucks down the road, and ordered my evening usual (Decaf Extra Foam Tall latte, with a splash of coffee cream). I was then reminded how picky I am about my lattes. They have to be perfect. I like my espresso shot best pulled between 18-22 seconds. I can tell if it's less or more. It's gross. I also like my latte to be 155 degrees. Not too hot, not too cold. I also like fresh milk. Many a time milk used for previous drinks, is re-steamed (usually to piping hot) and it's gross. I can tell. And most importantly, I want a sleeve. Or, if there are no sleeves available, double cup it please. I wish I could order my drink like this:

Decaf Extra Foam, Fresh Milk, 155 Degree , 18-22 second shot, Tall Latte with a splash of coffee cream and a sleeve

But I would probably get kicked out.

Decorating
Pier 1 is my new favourite store. We went there yesterday, and half the store was decked out in my shade of blue. So, Nich and I picked up a few more things to polish off the main floor. Here are some pics.

Our new Pier 1 curtains, and throw pillows. As well as our
new "Yucca Tree" from Ikea. This is Yuccy II. The original
Yuccy died at the shady apartment.

We also fell in love with a huge clock. This picture really doesn't
do it justice, it takes up half our wall. I can't decide if it's too big
or not. You will have to come over and decide for me.

And, as I am typing, Nich is upstairs installing crown molding in our bedroom. He just yelled down that he has 2 more pieces to put up, then I can come take a look.

Abercrombie and the Hot Springs
Yesterday, I woke up and thought to myself: "It's my day off, I should do something super fun like drive down to the States and go SHOPPING."

So, I packed up Eva (who was thrilled to pieces we were about to embark on a road trip) and off we went to Bellis Fair Mall. I originally went to buy stuff to finish off Eva's room. I still need purple sheets and a cute window covering. And since I am still totally lost on where to shop in Canada (where do they have kids room decor, oh Canadians out there?) Buut, then I kinda got distracted by my all-time favourite store, although I've never actually been able to afford to shop there.

Abercrombie & Fitch

They never have sales...never! But yesterday they did, and I got an insanely cute coral-coloured hoodie. I'm in looooove. I've been wearing it since yesterday morning.

In other news, Nich and I went on a little getaway to Harrison Hot Springs. We stayed at a new, modern hotel, right on the water. It was a good time.

Nich and I fell in love with all the fixtures and faucets at the hotel. They were very cutting edge. I know it's kinda random to care about this sort of thing, but for some silly reason, we do.

The votes are in...
I won I won I won!

Hmm, maybe that was a little over the top, but I am extremely excited and so very happy that 3/4's of you feel the same way I do about purple closets. They just don't make sense.

Unfortunately, I will have to break the news to Nich when he comes home from work. He will then say "This is so wrong! " and "You totally swayed the vote!" and something like "Blogging is stupid!" Then, after he is done fighting it, he will accept that he has lost, and will put away the purple paint in the garage. Where it belongs.

In all honesty, I hope he's okay with it. I hope he doesn't break down into tears, and sob uncontrollably, because then I just might give in. And Nich will get his purple closet after all.

The Great Debate
Sorry, no pictures yet. Nich sliced his hand open yesterday, so needless to say, that has slowed the process down a bit. Poor guy. He works too hard.

In other news, blogland, we need your help. We have painted Eva's room purple- well, more like a bright, bold violet. Everything is painted except the inside of her closet (which is behind white closet doors). And I would like to keep it that way (purple closet=weird). But Nich would like to paint it purple. So, per Nich's request, we are handing over the reigns to you guys, because we simply cannot agree.

Leave the inside of her closet beige, or paint it purple?

Eva's Girly Room
Remember this post? Well, Eva's room won't look anything like it, but it will still be cool. The painting went underway yesterday, and Nich finished it this morning. He is working on the wainscoting right now- building it from scratch. It's gonna look a little like this. Her walls are painted (no more beige, can you believe it?) And the "Imagine" picture is hanging on her wall. So cute! I'll take pics as soon as it's done. Maybe tomorrow. Nich works fast. Oh, and did I mention my part in all this? I picked the paint colour. Yup, that's about the extent of it. Nich is so fast, I can't keep up with him. And he's so stinkin excited to use a table saw in his VERY OWN GARAGE. Yes, folks, this is the reason we moved. So Nich could have a garage. It's cool to see him so happy. And, huh, that was a tangent. Ok, pictures to come soon my friends...

It has begun...
I'm officially a "working mom". It's cool because I get to pick the days and hours I work, so I'm starting off slow. Easing into it, so it's not a shock to my system- or Eva's.

She did great today- other than the tearful goodbye. I think she'll enjoy spending the days with her best friend, Caleb. Jennifer is taking them on a walk to the park tomorrow. The baby swing is Eva's favourite thing. I'm SO thankful to leave Eva with a friend that will take such good care of her. (Thanks Jennifer!)

Well, I have lunches to make and a house to spiffy up. This "working mom" gig isn't so bad. But, I might re-evaluate that comment when I'm in over my head in a few weeks.
