New House
The new house is coming along wonderfully. We paid a little visit to the Site Supervisor last Wednesday afternoon, confirming that he was sure, beyond a doubt, that we could move in by April 19th. He said it would be done, but in a very unconvincing tone.

The next morning, at 5 am, Nich came to work on the house again. From the time Nich left the house the night before (around 5pm) till he came back, the granite countertops were installed, the carpet arrived onsite, the mirrors were installed, and the appliances had arrived. Coincidence? Or perhaps seeing me in my pregnant state got the Site Supervisor on the phone... Either way, hallelujah! How about some pics..

Our kitchen (the hardwood is installed, Nich
just covered it so it wouldn't get scratched)

Yay for brand new stainless steel appliances!

Our Living Room

The railings (I am soo in lurve) And, yes,
they are bubble-wrapped. We are
a tad paranoid of trades trampling through our house
and trashing it. The backing of carpet is like sandpaper.

38 weeks
I finally got to see my Doctor again, no lame substitute today. I've gained 3 pounds in the last week. But that makes up for the pound I lost the week before. He estimated baby to be 7 1/2 pounds at delivery, which is great. And, the kicker, the baby is facing posterior...which means icky painful back labour if he doesn't twirl around soon. My Doctor is confident that he'll turn during labour, especially if I lean over my birthing ball during the early hours of it. Sooo, we'll see. Back labour is something I was hoping to avoid this time. Eva was posterior as well, and it caused lots of problems, mostly because it's harder for them to be birthed.

Nevertheless, I am excited to go through whatever it takes to meet Baby Bean. I am so stoked. And since I am totally convinced it's going to be a boy, I went and bought BLUE sleepers at the Children's Place this morning. (If you live by one, hurry in, there sleeprs are $5.99 right now!).

And that's the baby update for today. There is so much else I could blog about...but maybe some other day. I need a nap.

When it rains it pours
I don't really have the energy to blog yet. It's been a hard week. But, I don't want to disappear from Blogland completely, so here are a couple pictures of the sunshine in my life.

37 weeks
I am officially full-term, woohoo. I had my Dr. appointment this morning, and it was lame because my Doctor is on spring break, so I had a fill-in. I don't get to see my Doctor again until next Thursday. That seems like ages away. But, anyhow...

How bouts a Baby pool! Leave a comment with your guess on Baby Bean's birth date, weight, and gender.

If you're curious: Eva's original due date was Dec 4th, the ultrasounds changed it to Dec 14th, then Dec 21st. She arrived Dec 9th at noon weighing 7lbs 2ounces. And the Doctors said she looked a bit overdue.

Baby Bean's original due date was April 3rd, then the ultrasound changed it to April 9th.

My vote: April 1, 6 lbs 10 ounces, baby boy
Nich's vote: April 2, 7lbs 4 ounces, baby girl

Your turn!

My belly and the new house
How abouts that belly pic I promised? Here is my almost 37 week (as of tomorrow!) prego self.

I have another Dr. appointment tomorrow, so I'll update more on all things baby then.

Nich has been working like crazy on our new house. He has almost all of the contracts from here on out (except carpet, and tile in the entryway), so it's up to him to finish it before Baby Bean gets here. It's coming along quite well. He picked out a beautiful dark hardwood floor for our kitchen/den/dining area. I am super excited to have hardwood! He's also got crown moulding up in all the bedrooms, and he made Eva's bedroom wainscoting from scratch. He's amazing.

I snuck my camera in our house on Sunday, and only got two lame pictures before my camera battery died.

A corner of our kitchen...

And Eva's girlie bedroom...

It's exciting to see it coming along so well. Poor Baby Bean's room is boring and beige with no wainscoting. I have no design inspiration for it (because blue? or purple? nobody knows) so we're just going to leave it until we move in. But, Eva's room on the other hand, is going to be picture perfect. I have adorable pink stripey Pottery Barn bedding for her big girl bed. And I'm working on the wall hangings this week. And we (we meaning Nich- yes he sews but don't tell anyone) are going to make a valance for her window that compliments her bedding. Oh, the fun!

Random
I've been tagged by Deanna to share 7 random facts about myself. So here goes.

1. I think my husband is hot. And I don't think many guys are hot- including movie stars. I can count on my hand how many guys I've come across in my whole life whom I have found good-looking.

2. I am positive Baby Bean is coming before his due date, April 9th. But, then again, aren't all prego's convinced the Baby will come early? Sigh.

3. I am also positive Baby Bean is a boy. Will I look back at this in a few weeks and laugh at myself? Probably.

4. I wear my contacts way more than I should- from the moment I wake up until 30 seconds before I crawl into bed. My eyes are getting mad at me for this. I am trying to wear my glasses more often now.

5. I have a really hard time ordering at Starbucks. There is a certain drink for every mood. And there are sooo many different moods.

6. I'm grumpy when my house isn't clean. I tried to talk Nich into hiring a weekly cleaning service for a month or two after Baby Bean arrives. He wouldn't go for it. So, if you come visit Baby Bean in the first few weeks, you are not allowed to leave until you mop my floor.

7. I am trying my darndest to drink 2 cups of Red Raspberry Leaf tea every day. Do you know that they recommend 3-5 cups a day? Sheesh.

If you're not familiar with Red Raspberry Leaf, it's supposed to help prep your body for labour. And in theory make labour easier/shorter. I don't know if I believe it, but it can't hurt.

Hey, how about a belly pic?

Oh, ok, or not. Blogger isn't letting me upload pictures. Maybe later.

Victoria
Eva and I just got back from a Girls Weekend Away in Victoria with my Mom, sister-in-law and nephew. It was lots of fun, and reminded me a lot of Nich and I's wedding weekend 3 1/2 years ago. Because we hit lots of the same spots, and stayed a block away from the hotel we got married in.

It was great to see the Parliment buildings lit up, and the kids just loved the aquarium, and getting to see the seals at Fishermen's Wharf. If you wanna see more pics, you can always check out Christi's blog.

I had my 36 week Dr's appointment today. Nothing new to report there, except he's thrilled as always, and this week even the nurse dished out the compliments. I feel way better this week than last. I'm pretty sure Baby Bean is done causing a huge ruckus for now, and has settled in for a few more weeks (hopefully? please?). I felt like the Baby was going to pop out any minute until I arrived in Victoria and everything calmed down.

On the potty training front, well, I guess the training part is done, but I'm still in disbelief that she is trained. I keep on putting her in pull-ups for long trips- but she never uses them. She's always just fine with holding it until I put her on the potty the next time. We're on 11 accident-free days and counting. She's my little champion.

Random thoughts
- We forgot to put a diaper on Eva at bedtime last night. She woke up this morning completely dry. What a champ.

- What's with all the Braxton Hicks /Nausea/Lower Bachache/Crampiness/Pressure I have been experiencing for the last 3 days. I felt this way with Eva one week before I had her. But, I'm only 35 weeks along. This misery is going to last another 5 weeks? Is this a second pregnancy thing?

Boo.

- Did I mention I can't take 2 steps without an annoying Braxton Hicks contraction? And waddling to the other side of the mall seems like an impossible feat too great for me to conquer?

That is all.

35 weeks
I had my 35 week appointment today, (I'll be 35 weeks tomorrow) and all went well. I've gained 3 more pounds since my last appointment, and I'm measuring 2 cm bigger.

Yesterday afternoon, after I blogged about how I barely feel pregnant, I felt the baby "drop". And now do I EVER feel pregnant. I'm having a gagillion Braxton Hicks contractions all the time, and have started to walk with a slight waddle. The Doctor confirmed at the appointment today that the baby has dropped and is 3/4 engaged. I guess he can only feel the chin, the rest is engaged in my pelvis. It's also pretty early for this to happen. He said with second pregnancies it usually only happens right before labour begins. But, he also said it doesn't really mean anything, just that the baby is "locked and loaded". I have a feeling I won't be overdue.

Wish I had a prego pic for ya, but I'm too lazy to jog upstairs with my camera. So, maybe another day.

Success
Potty training makes for some crazy days. But, I am happy to say, it's official.

She's potty trained.

I was sure all was out the window with the busy day we had planned yesterday. First, there was the 2 1/2 hour church outing which I spent the whole night prior worrying about. I finally decided to put a pull-up on her, because I was pretty sure 2 1/2 hours was just a little too long for her to make it. Well, I took her for a potty break halfway through the service, and she made it through completely dry.

Maybe pull-ups arent so bad after all. It's kinda nice to have that "safety" there. So, when we headed out to Chilliwack for a dinner with some new friends, I put her in a pull-up again. And once again, she made it through the whole night completely dry. And even got up the courage to ask me for a couple trips to the potty while we were there. (She is pretty shy about it).

I think I'll whip out the pull-ups a few more times in the next coming weeks. Since she doesn't use them anyway, it's great for my peace of mind. And I am reallly dreading the first big accident in public. She's still getting used to the whole potty thing, it's not at all perfected. She seems to get really excited when her friends are around and never remembers to go. So, we need to work on that.

But anyways, for a week there, I was so wrapped up in potty land, I forgot I was pregnant. No, not kidding. In fact, I wouldn't even think I was in my 3rd trimester, except for the fact that I am due in 5.5 weeks. I still feel pretty much fantastic. I've only had a handful of bad pregnancy days, with back pain and all, and I don't sleep all that great anymore, but seriously, nothing compared to being pregnant with Eva. At this point with her, I was constantly sore and achy everywhere, it was hard to walk, and I had to have Nich tie my shoes.

I am loving this pregnancy. And, I might just miss never being pregnant again.
