Baking Snickerdoodles
It's been quiet here on the blog for some time, because my life has yet to have some semblance of normal. Moving, with two young children, to a home under renovation (with your husband gone doing it all), is officially as exhausting as having a newborn baby. I'm still pretty tired, and still REALLY looking forward to September when it will all be done.

But, moving on... how about some pictures? I got a burst of energy yesterday, so I decided to do some baking with the girls. The girls got a kick out of mixing, adding ingredients, and licking the beaters...

Somehow, 'Green Bunny' (yes, that's his name...) got an imaginary Owie. Coincidently, an hour before the 'owie' occured, I bought Dora Bandaids at the Superstore. And, told the girls that, yes they had cartoon Dora on them, but no, they weren't toys. So, you can't play with them.
But, while we were making cookies, Green bunny got a pretend 'owie' and most definitely needed a bandaid. A dora bandaid. How could I say no to that cuteness?

After we baked some cookies, Kaitlyn got really excited to try one. So, she went to the dining room, grabbed her little chair, and scooted it all the way through the kitchen, up to the counter- so she could climb up and grab one.

Almost there.....!
She didn't realize that the baked cookies were actually on the other side of the counter. But, I rewarded her efforts anyway, with a freshly baked cookie in her high chair.

Now, I need to go, because both girls have figured out how to get through the child locks on the bathroom cupboards and are pretend brusing their teeth. Is it bedtime yet?

Plum tuckered
It's pretty crazy having a home 'under renovation'. Even though Nich is just working in the basement, we've already experienced many plumbing and gas complications that have affected the upstairs. Along with that, I am trying to hold the whole house together. Usually, Nich would be in charge of the outside- lawn watering, gardening, car washing, vacuuming, etc. And I do what I do best, on the inside- cooking, cleaning, diapering, finances, etc.

But, now that Nich is working like crazy trying to get the basement suite done in a timely fashion, all of it has fallen on my shoulders. And on top of that, I still have loads of unpacking to do. We are both exhausted. And running on little sleep.

So, if you are wondering where I have disappeared to and how I am doing- I am busy trying to keep this household afloat (how do single, working parents do it?!) and I am drinking 5 cups of coffee a day to survive.

So, to end this post on a cute note, some pictures of the two adorable girls that bring so much joy to these crazy days.

I know it's going to get better. The basement will be done in 3-4 weeks. I am unpacking more boxes every day. I am becoming a whiz at lawn & garden maintenance (I mowed a lawn for the first time! It was fun!)

And, really, how bad can anything be with Starbucks one minute away?
