sippy cups and two hour naps
i hope i don't jinx this by saying something...we're in a really good groove. A couple days ago, Eva decided to start holding her own bottle, spoil her mum by taking 2 hour naps, and drink apple juice from her sippy cup for afternoon snack. She eats 4 meals a day, every four hours- breakfast at 8am, lunch at 12pm, dinner at 4pm, evening at 8pm. And she has dropped her 5am feed. I'm pretty sure she went thru her 6 month growth spurt one week ago (which would explain my 3 sleepless nights in a row). And now i am really digging this 6 month old-ness of Eva.

me and my sunshine
i love eva's smile in this picture. she looks pretty thrilled. i can't believe she's almost 6 months old! She is already eating rice cereal, oatmeal..and as of 20 minutes ago, barley cereal..which she loves. She also eats bananas every morning, and squash or yams every night. Before i know it, she will be eating full-on meals. i have to say, i love that she is growing up. everyone tells me that i should cherish her at the stage she's at. which i do, but every new stage thrills me. what i am really looking forward to, is when she holds her own bottle. or goes to the fridge and pours herself some milk. or, best of all, puts away the dishes in the dishwasher. nich has already shown her which cupboard each dish belongs in.

beach baby
Mother's Day was a blast. We took the skytrain & seabus to Londsdale Quay. We enjoyed walking along the pier and eating caramel apples. Then, we met my Mom and Dad at White Rock beach for some fish & chips. And Eva met the beach for the first time. She loved it. She took a big fistful of sand and before you know it- shoveled it into her mouth. Gross. She also enjoyed "walking" in the sand with Daddy. Here's some shots.

First time at the pool
my first mother's day
we celebrated mother's day early... only because nich just got my present this evening and we both couldn't wait to open it. here is the action step-by-step..
if you squint your eyes, you can see that nich wrote "Happy Mother's Day Wrapping Paper" ....that's just to clarify that it is not in fact wedding wrapping paper. And if you squint a little more, you will see that along with the bride and groom, nich drew a stick-baby. which of course is our beloved Eva. 
no wayyyyy... a CUISINART coffee maker?! complete with charcoal water filter, programmable clock, and a Brew Pausefeature? i am in awe.

indigo living
i know you are all dying of curiousity, wondering what our new townhouse is going to be like :) indigoliving.ca finally has floorplans and descriptions posted. we bought "plan b JADE". we drive by once in awhile (ok ok, every couple days)...and this is what it looks like.
so, as you can tell, they have a long way to go. i'll post pics of progress along the way. estimated move-in date is October 31st. I cant wait.

selling our home
so, here is the condo-selling update. the offer on our house fell thru on friday...that afternoon we got another offer. Praise God! So far, this contract looks more solid. we'll know for sure by this friday. if this one works out, we have to be out of here by june 17th...so soon! i love our house, and i'll miss it very much. so many memories here! but we are all stoked to be moving into a townhouse. we're gonna have more room than we know what to do with!

life update
wow, can't believe it's been so long since i've updated the blog. it feels like i've been so busy. but i can't think of too much that went on. what have i been doing? i think eva keeps me so busy, time goes in hyperspeed. last weekend, eva got to meet her cuz Kaylie and her Auntie Jen for the first time. eva and kaylie really hit it off, and shared lotsa smiles together. here's a pic.
went to the States to do some serious shopping with Mandee and Isaac. it was a blast, of course. i bought the book "Goodnight Moon" for Eva, have you heard of it? We read a book to her before sleep every night. We finally have an evening routine established now: bottle, story, prayers, sleep. It is working great, she almost always goes straight to la la land without a whimper.so, the only other thing going on around here is that we are in the process of selling our house. we had an offer on it within a few hours of it hitting MLS.ca. pretty crazy how this housing market is. but, it's working out great for us so far. well, we find out tomorrow if the offer on our house goes thru. i'll keep ya'll posted! happy thursday!
