The new house
Here's a sneak peak at our new house. There are still boxes everywhere (except the kitchen, that's my oasis!), so it's looking far from perfect. But, here's some shots to show you the main idea...

We love it. It's perfect. And the air conditioning is pretty nice, too.

Little update
We're all moved in, not quite all unpacked...but we're slowly getting there. Most of my time and energy are going into making this house a home. And I barely see Nich as he is going hard on installing appliances, and building a basement suite. So, things will be quiet here on the blog for awhile.

I've got pictures of the house and the moving fun, but I can't find my camera stuff right now, so that will have to wait. But, I'll leave you with a conversation I just had with Eva:

Eva: I like Santa Clause

Me: I like Santa Clause, too. Do you know he lives at the North Pole?

Eva: Yes, yes he does.

Me: Do you know he has special animals up there?

Eva: Yes, he has a goose.

Me: Oh, he does! Wow, that's neat. Do you know he also has reindeer?

Eva: Yes, yes he does. When it rains, he has deer.

The new house
Here it is, folks...

We move in FIVE days. It couldn't come fast enough. First of all, we can't wait to leave this nutty neighborhood. We share bedroom walls with a crying baby, that screeches through the night and keeps me awake. And our other neighbours are just as noisy with their crying babies and howling dogs.

Secondly, the new place is amazing. It's on a quiet cul-de-sac! and has air conditioning! a big backyard! a double garage! a study! a bedroom-sized walk-in closet! a jetted soaker tub! a double shower! a fridge door that dispenses water and ice! and did I mention air conditioning??

I'm just a tad excited.

Gisborne
It has been almost a year since my 13-year old Siamese, 'Josephine Gabrielle' went to kitty heaven. I miss her dearly. And I finally got Nich somewhat excited (with much prompting and bribing and puppy-dog eyes) about the idea of having another cat around.

I visited a Siamese breeder down the road (once a Siamese lover, always a Siamese lover) and next thing ya know....we're getting a kitty! A little boy, and we're going to name him 'Gisborne'. There's meaning behind that name, I'll save the story for another blog post. But, I bet some of you recognize where the name is from.

Anyhow, would you like to see him? Here is a picture of him and his two brothers just 6 days old.

He's 2 1/2 weeks old now. So, I'm sure he looks a lot different. The breeder updates pictures every couple weeks, so I'll have a new one in a few days. Also, we don't pick which kitty is ours until August. But, the two with the darker noses are 'Seal Points', so I'm pretty sure we'll pick one of those guys.

We are so excited! Nich is going to build him a cat tree. And I'm counting down the days until we get to bring him home: 72 days.

And the other popular countdown in the house...moving day in 9 days!

Kate-kins
How about a little Kaitlyn update.

-She sleeps through the night, from 7:30pm until 6:30-7:00am

-She barely says any words, just 'Dadda' 'Momma' and 'Juice'. She says other words once-in-awhile (like Dora and banana) but not consistently.

-She is a giggly girl, and loves a good tickle

-We know she's finished her dinner, when she throws her plate, food and sippy cup on the floor. She has been doing this for so long that she knows we try to catch her before she throws. So she waits until we look the other way, then throws everything as fast as possible.

-She loves bathtime, and no longer poops in the tub.

-She has 5 teeth.

-I'm pretty sure her favourite activity is pulling Eva's pigtails.

-She loves bedtime stories, and often begs for more books.

-When she's really tired, she gets mad when we try to read to her, and throws the book, and furiously points to her crib until we tuck her in. She LOVES her bed.

LG
I am absolutely giddy with glee. Nich got a great deal through his work on this beautiful LG washer & dryer for our new house.

They are a washer and dryer with a brain. The washer adjusts the water & temperature level to match the grubbiness of your clothes. And the dryer is just as smart, stopping as soon as it senses the clothes are dry.

And the best part? They sing to you when you turn them on.

Moving countdown: 18 days

Little update
If it's ever really quiet on this here blog, it usually means my client has given me a gigantic amount of work to do in a short amount of time. Here are some pictures to entertain until I'm done my mountain of work...

Nich's Mom came for a little visit last weekend! It's a rare treat, since she lives in Terrace...Eva absolutely adores her.

And, this last weekend we went down to the States to celebrate Ethan's birthday, and the 4th of July. The kids partied, watched a parade, and bounced in bouncy castles. Fun was had by all.
