Not much else is new around here. Kaitlyn is going a little longer between feeds, about 2 1/2 to 3 hours. So, that is a nice break. I feel like I get to live a little now. She's also faster- last month she would take around 30 minutes, if not longer. And now it's more like 10 minutes. This is also really nice.

Another awesome thing is that she has a bedtime now. I bathe her, pajama her, feed her, and put her down by 8:30. And she actually goes to sleep in her crib by herself, wakes up a couple times to eat, and is up for the day at 8:30am. Pretty nice if you ask me.

In Eva news, I finally have her on video singing her ABC's. I got it on video a couple months ago, but I accidentally deleted it on my computer when I was organizing files. So, here she is, playing with her belly button the whole time (2-year olds!). And at the very end, instead of finishing the song, she wants to see herself on the video screen. So you can hear her asking "See it! Wanna see it!"

Is there such a thing as 2-month burnout? All the new-baby adrenaline is used up and the less amount of sleep is starting to take its toll.

I am so tired.

And the kicker is, I've been noticing that Kaitlyn has a bad reaction to caffeine. So, I'm trying to keep it to a small cup just to start the day. But, when I am so tired, caffeine would sure be a nice help.

Also, I would like my groove back. There is a new way to do everything now: showering, vacuuming, making meals, etc. And, I'm still at a loss on how to clean bathrooms with a baby that wants to be held all the time. The sling or the Bjorn do not work well for scrubbing toilets and floors.

So, to solve this problem, I've decided I need to rearrange my days quite a bit. More chores in the evening, and more kid-time during the day (since I can't get my stuff done anyway). This way, I am less frustrated and disappointed when Nich comes home at 4:00 and the only chore done is the unloaded dishwasher. Because, I'll have all evening to conquer the chores.

And, besides, allowing myself to spend the day-time more focused on kidlets than chores, is quite rewarding. Kaitlyn's smiles and coo's are priceless, and when Eva gets time at the park or time playing with me, she's a much happier toddler.

We had a Father's Day BBQ yesterday, and I actually remembered to break out the camera! I would write more about how I love the Dads in my life (my Daddy-o, and also Nich, the great Dad to my kiddos). But, a simple "Happy Dad's Day" will have to do, because Kaitlyn just woke up, and Eva decided to go in her room and say hi.

Seriously, I have no time! I can barely shower anymore. Now that Kaitlyn is growing out of the sleep anywhere all the time stage- there really is no "me" time. We're trying to get her to nap in her crib- I just started this morning. She would have none of it, no matter how hard I tried all morning long.

Then, for her mid-afternoon snooze, I tried again. I rocked her until she was good and drowsy, and then laid her in her crib. She opened her eyes and squawked in protest, and I snuzzle-wuzzled her forehead (stroked it gently) and it worked like magic. I usually have to go in there a couple times with the snuzzle-wuzzle action before she succumbs to her tiredness, and conks out. But, it's working! I read the book the "No Cry Sleep Solution"- and I like a lot of her ideas. Although, I believe the "snuzzle wuzzle" is my Dad's original handiwork.
