All I want for Christmas...
. . . is our townhouse.

The official word is in- our move-in date has been "extended" from October 31st to December 21st. Ohh la la. That is 3 months away. What to do, what to do. I guess we will be having a very merry Christmas!

veggie rejection
She has been thowing up her meals.

At first I thought it was because she was a bit sick. Then I thought that maybe she was choking/gagging and that caused her to projectile her meal. But then I realized...

-yesterday at lunch it was the sweet potatoes

-yesterday at dinner it was the broccoli

-today at lunch it was the avacado

She eats everything else just fine- cereal, fruit, meat, crackers...but as soon as veggies are in the mix- well, what a mess. I think I need to start disguising her vegetables a little more. Any ideas?

weekend getaway

For the first time, Nich and I left our baby behind with Grandma, and drove off to a romantic weekend getaway.

We ate crab legs and creme brulee (omigoodness yum), enjoyed the freeform pool and hot tub...and SLEPT IN! Ok, only until 7:30, but we woke up when we wanted to. Not when Eva wanted us to. It rocked.

So, Mom, how is your calendar looking for next weekend?

Aaron Adoption Update
Tidbit taken from Christi's blog, Pondering Pureshots:

"Well, the first hearing has officially come and gone. It was on September 19 in Taiwan. To the best of my understanding, the judge reviews the case during this hearing. He now has to contact all the involved parties and make sure this is really in the best interest of the child and what everyone wants. The next step is the first ruling and we are still waiting to find out when that will be. Then the final step is the final decree, which we have to be present in Taiwan for. Then we get to bring him home!! So it is getting closer, but could still be a long ways away. We just don't know anything yet. Still just waiting. But the house is starting to look more and more like a baby is coming. So, those are today's updates. "

So, that's the news for now! We are all still hoping and praying that Nate and Christi can bring him home to Washington by the end of October.

bad news
I knew it was going to happen. But apparently I still had my hopes high.

Our townhouse has been delayed. There is yet to be the official announcement, so we don't know what date to look forward to next, but the realtor is guessing Mid-December. ..MID-DECEMBER!!! That is like, a whole different SEASON! Not that I am upset or anything. I am actually trying to focus on the positive. Our original move date was October 31st, Halloween. And if you refer to the previous post, the adorable purple dinosaur costume would have gone to much waste if we were moving.

I am not mad.

I am glad.

The purple dinosaur will get to celebrate Halloween.

nine months old
Eva is now a permanent attachment to my leg. Yesterday I was making dinner, and she climbed up my pants and clung on for dear life and would not let go. So, I spent a 1/2 hour in the kitchen making stir-fry, swinging Eva around on my leg. I've heard that from 9 months till 1 year is the time that they get the most attached. But it's to the point where its a little out of control.

She has also so kindly been waking up around 5:30-6:00 the past few days. Which leaves me really tired. And needing Starbucks. After I post this, I am plopping Eva in her stroller, and we will beeline to the nearest Starbucks for my Pumpkin Spice Latte. Oh, and I'm on caffeine again. It happened 2 days ago. Here is the story.

I sold our old VW Jetta to these gurls that work at Starbucks. And just because they are so cool, they gave me 1 lb of Komodo Dragon coffee...and it wasn't decaf. So for a few days it sat on my countertop, center stage, as I contemplated what to do. Do I go to Starbucks and try to exchange it for Decaf? Do I keep it, and only serve it to special guests that aren't on a Decaf kick? Or do I keep it all to myself and enjoy every savoury last bit of my favourite Starbucks blend? Hmmmmm. I gave in. And that is why I am back on the Caffeine.

Back to Eva. She has her 6th tooth. She crawls so fast I can barely keep up. She still has no hair. And if you are looking for her...she is attached to my leg.

Mmmm so good. And no one whips up a better milkshake than my man and our hamilton beach 730c classic drinkmaster drink mixer. yes, i agree, that is a very long name for a very small appliance.

Bring on Autumn
Happy Labour Day! What a stellar weekend, we visited family down in the States, and Nich took his first 3-day weekend in a long time. Eva has a 5th tooth, and her 6th will be breaking thru at any moment. She is officially on "the straw". She has a new straw sippy cup that is her favourite thing. She is crawling, clapping, all in all growing up too fast. She has also conquered the art of crawling up Mom's leg. What a monkey.
I went shopping at Old Navy's Labour Day sale today. And bought the cutest sweater hoodie ever. All i can say now is, bring on the cold weather! I love hoodies :)

Tiramisu
Nich and I made an attempt at our first ever Tiramisu last nite. If you don't know what that is, you should come over right now, because there is still a piece or two left. On second thought, who ever said you can't eat dessert for breakfast?

Other news: Eva clapped for the first time yesterday. She still can't clap on demand (when I say, "Eva, can you clap?", I am met with a blank stare..sometimes a giggle) but it's coming along. Also, she is cutting 4 more teeth. Why 4? Because that is the only reasonable explanation for waking up every 1/2 hour, screaming and wailing, all night long.

I need coffee.

No no, correction, I need Tiramisu.
