my head is spinning
holy cow, a lot is going on. if i would make a to-do list for myself today it would be two pages long. it's mostly work. i put off year-end for so long (i know, it's almost march) i have been swamped. And with eva being more needy than usual, my house begging to be cleaned, birthday present shopping to do, bills to pay, overdue library books to return (and a $2.40 fine to pay)..i am going crazy! i wish there was two of me.

soo that is why it has taken me this long to update. but i'm stoked to post some pics of friday night's Ethical Addictions gig! it was too fun. thanks for inviting me to play, Brando.

Big Smiles
Eva is a morning person- i don't know where she gets it from, cuz her mom certainly isnt! But i snuck the camera in this morning and snapped some shots of her crazy happy smiles as i woke her up. She's so cute my heart's gonna explode.

ethical addictions
it's official. i am plyaing my guitar at ethical addictions on friday night. this has been an answer to prayer because i have had no will of my own to pick up my guitar and play again. i just got so burnt out in new zealand. so i've been praying that somebody would kick me in the butt. and brandon did. with the help from his wife, Jen, they talked me into playing again.
i have to say i am pretty stoked, and so is Stellar (my guitar). and i just loooove to sing, so i'm gonna have fun :)

So i'm gonna go shopping now. in the States, YAY! before I go i will leave you with this picture i took this morning..

Daddy's little girl

Eva is such a sweetheart! She knows when Daddy comes home now, she starts breathing really fast, gazing over at him, and then starts to whimper until he comes over and whisks her up in his arms. She loves her Daddy!

my baby is growing up

Everyone says it: "they grow so fast!". And as i was looking thru all of Eva's pictures from the last 10 weeks of her life, i cant believe how much she's changed. she is such a big girl now compared to just a few weeks ago! Crazy.

So this is our newest update: we are renovating our bathroom. Well actually just ripping up the linoleum (is that how u spell it? looks weird) and putting down ceramic tile. Ummm, it's nich's idea. i don't know if i will really be able to tell the difference. but, cool, whatever makes the husband happy.

Eva and Mr. Moose

I have the most unpredictable child. She slept in this morning, for the first time! I finally woke her up at 9:45. But if i didnt wake her up, who knows how long she might've slept. That rocks. I'm stoked. I am SO STOKED!

one step forward, two steps back
Well, we finally did it. We made the transition to the crib. It's been 2 nights now that she's been in her new room...two very sleepless nights. She was doing so well before we changed it up! She would only wake once around 330am-4am to eat and then she'd sleep till morning. Now, it's like having a newborn all over again. This was our night last night:

8:30pm final feed
8:50 tuck in bed
9:30 she cries until we pick her up and hang out with her
10:00 she drifts off to sleep in my arms
10:30 dream feed
10:50 tuck in bed (she actually stays asleep this time)
1:40am she cries until i feed her
2:20am finally falls asleep
2:45 cries until i come in and soothe her
3:10 finally back to sleep
4:45 cries - i beg nich to feed her- have barely slept since the 1:40 incident
5:00 tuck in bed (nich comes back to bed)
5:15 cries until soothed
5:20 back to sleep for a few minutes
5:45 cries some more
6:00 finally back to sleep
7:30 cries cuz she's hungry
7:50 back to sleep
8:30 cries cuz she's awake and doesn't understand why Mommy wants to sleep

So I've done the calculations and I got 4 1/2 hours of broken sleep last night, more like 5 medium-size naps. So, I am going to go hit the cafe and order my new favourite: a Vanilla Bean latte...and maybe i'll get that a triple shot.

Lazy Sunday

I've had an obnoxious cold for almost a week, so today i decided that it was ok to be lazy, and chilled in bed for awhile. Eva and I got some quality snuggle time..

Save On Foods was having a rad sale- stuff as many crackers and cookies possible in a grocery bag and will cost you a mere $10! And you have to understand, i bagged groceries as my high skool job, so i've had 2 years experience stuffing grocery bags. I packed it in good, and ended up with more snacks than we know what to do with.

song i wrote
I finally picked up my guitar and strummed a few songs i wrote while i was in bible skool. here is a song i jotted down on the side of my class notes- it seems like the best songs i wrote were thought up during class.

My thoughts of forever fray at the ends
Can't wrap my mind around the thought of eternity
You're outside of time and so is my soul
So why do i stare at the world?

(pre-chorus)
I don't want to cling to anything on this earth
I just want to fall contentedly into your embrace
So, Lord have my all
Eternally

(Chorus)
So whatever I do, may be of You
The words that I say, have a "You" aftertaste
The love I show, be of Your glow
And the songs that I sing, be worthy of a King

My heart's sigh for forever, seared by my mind
I don't know much, but I know Your love will never ever end
You're so far above me, yet never without me
So why can't I simply let go

(pre-chorus)
I don't want to cling to anything on this earth
I just want to fall contentedly into your embrace
So, Lord have my all
Eternally

(Chorus)
So whatever I do, may be of You
The words that I say, have a "You" aftertaste
The love I show, be of Your glow
And the songs that I sing, be worthy of a King

new toys
Our baby gurl is growing up so fast! She is now fascinated by funny faces- particularly if your tongue is hanging out. She loves it! She smiles a big teethless smile and coos and gaa's. It's so cool to see her so responsive.

My Mom and I went to Kidswap on Saturday. It is like baby accessory heaven. I got Eva a baby rocking chair and lotsa new toys.

Yay for new toys!!

My new rocking chair ROCKS
