sun peaks
We just got back from our first real vacation! We had good food, good fun, and good times. Nich took to the mountains with his new Kona bike, my Mom and I relaxed at the spa, and Eva enjoyed many stroller walks around the "village". Many thanks to Uncle Jim and Auntie Sunae for letting us stay at their amazing house!

Push-ups and Sit-ups

Look, i can sit up all by myself!
What can i say, guys? I know i'm adorable. holy cow, she's growing up
so, here i am celebrating eva's newest accomplishments. Just in the last 2 days (when Grannie came into town), eva has started:
-saying "dada"
-sitting up from laying down, on her own
-waving goodbye
-moving into a "crawling" position
-squatting on her feet, trying to push up with her hands to stand (not even close, babe!)
so, i put her down for a nap, she starts crying, i go in...and there she is, SITTING UP IN HER CRIB. ok. so maybe not so celebratory anymore. i guess new accomplishments are good and bad. but hey, when she says "dadda", it's the coolest thing on this planet.

baby cold
eva has a baby cold. she didn't sleep last night. neither did i. for the first time since she was 2 months old i plopped her down in our bed, next to me, at 2am, cuz i was tired of getting up every 10 minutes. i am tired. i don't know why she isn't.
i wish i had more to say, but my mind is mush. and for the life of me, i can't think of anything else to blog. oh, except this, we are going to the States tomorrow and we get to see a lot of my fam. so that will be nice!

she did it!
it's amazing! eva sat up all by herself! yesterday, nich gave her lessons on how to do it, and apparently something clicked...and this morning, she did it! now i just hope she can remember how to do it again.
quick update
i have to type fast because eva will be awake any second. she has been napping for almost 2 hours! its crazy. i have got so much done, including making her first chicken dish...which she will be trying as soon as she wakes up. it tastes so yummy- i had to try some, i couldn't resist. it's a combo of stewed apples, carrots and chicken.
ok enuf food talk. onto sleep talk. she slept thru the night again. that makes 4 nights in a row now. A RECORD! i am really getting used to this.
well, its funny, having a baby makes you thrilled about the basics of life: eating and sleeping.

sleep is good
Well, i have to say, i am really enjoying my sleep lately. Eva has finally (fingers crossed) left behind the days of 5am wakings..and i am SO HAPPY that she is sleeping straight thru the night from 8pm until 630-7am. It has been 3 nights in a row now...let's hope this new schedule sticks.
Not much else new here. Eva just started eating brown rice last week, and as soon as she finishes the last of it, we will be starting chicken. Pretty exciting! I have all the foods written out, month-by-month that she is allowed to start.This month, some of the foods she will be trying are:
-Zucchini
-Apples
-Nectarines
-Plums
-Plain Yoghurt
-Toast
-Pasta
-Chicken
-Turkey
Her Grandma introduced her to Puffed Wheat just last night. And she loved it. So that is her new favourite snack.
Well, here is a pic of eva, so very excited about something, not sure what..

Aaron Pao-An update
Nate and Christi got the update they've been waiting for! Aaron Pao-An is doing great. He is about 5 months old, and looking as cute as ever.
townhouse update
Last night, in the pouring rain, we went and checked on our townhouse...and not only is the third floor completely framed, the roof is going up!
Nich says that the future order of events are as follows:
-roof
-shingles
-windows
-SIDING (which will be a huge surprise because we have NO IDEA what colour it is, the realtors only guessed it would be a nuetral. But nich spotted some siding hiding by the first townhouse yesterday, and it looked sandy-brown. But if there is siding on site, we shall see for ourselves very shortly!)
-plumbing and electrical
-so on so forth...bring on OCT 31!

life update
well, we got a new car..a 99 jetta gls. it's pretty. and very fun to drive. we love it.
um, what else is new? well, eva officially has two bottom front teeth. and she has been such a sport about the whole teething thing. what a doll. umm, the 3rd floor is up and all the walls framed on our townhouse. we got to stand in our bedroom, master bath...i even got to see my huge walk-in closet! we forgot our camera, so no pics to show yet.
we went to derby reach park today, with the dykstra's. it was a fun and relaxing afternoon. which was great after our crazy car-buying morning.
umm, what else is new? we broke down and got an air conditioner for our bedroom. they are only $100. who knew they were so cheap? small price to pay for a good nights sleep, is what i say.
well, here is my daughter...isn't she so camera-shy?

eva's first tooth
I can't believe it. Eva grabbed my finger, stuck it in her mouth, chomped down, and OUCH..it was sharp! Sure enough, her first tooth has officially poked thru. Wow, my baby is growing up. I'm so proud :)
Onto more exciting and stellar news. The garage sale fundraiser we had on Saturday, for Baby Aaron, was a roaring success! God really showed up.. I can't believe how many people came! It's crazy how you can tell in such an obvious way that God is answering prayers.
