K ya'll, I have been so engulfed in baby-ness, that blogging a real blog type entry really is beyond me.

So, how about some pics of Eva's first steps down a stair. Just a couple days ago, she was crawling down to the deck. Now, she's all big and grown up and stuff. Crazy.

And, do the last two prego's a favour. Stop by their blogs and leave them some comment love and encouragement.

Welcoming Baby Dykstra
Seriously, this is so exciting! Nich and I got to visit the Dykstra's and brand new Daniel John at the hospital this afternoon. He is so precious, pretty much slept the whole time. He squeaked too. It was cute. I forgot how perfectly adorable newborns are.

And, lucky me, I get to see two brand new babies this week. God willing, Nich's sister will have her baby soon, and we're going up to Terrace in a few days for a good visit.

Oh, babies babies, I love babies.

Vacay Planning
Nich and I have been saving and planning and hoping for a vacation for some time now. It will probably happen sometime in August or September, but where to go?

I am hoping for some expert advice here. We've asked around and so far we've been advised not to go to Mexico during those months because apparently it's insanely hot.

So, the other option is Hawaii. Which is a personal favourite, especially Maui. But, there are no all-inclusives in Hawaii, so it's looking to be the more pricey option.

Anyway, I was hoping you guys would have some wisdom and experience to share in this area.

Hawaii or Mexico?

It's Picture Time
So, it's been, like, a whole entire week since i posted pictures of Eva. So, here we go...

Lately, Eva has been trying to step into books. She will turn them to a favourite page, then set the book down, and try to step into the picture. She likes to sit at the table with Elmo, and, of course, go on adventures with Dora.

Doesn't she look pensive?

And of course, a "Mommy and Me" picture.

Peg Perego Centro Completo
I'm in stroller love.

If you've been hanging out with me the last few weeks you know that I have been desperately looking for a new stroller because Mr. Eddie Bauer reclines-too-much wasn't cutting it. And I know it's not just Eva being picky, because we have this miraculous Chariot that Eva sits in very contentedly. Problem is- it doesn't fit in our trunk, so we can only use it half the time.

So, I went on a hunt to find a stroller that would fit all my needs. And believe me, the list was long:

-Comfy
-Reclines
-Large Canopy
-Cup Holder for my Lattes
-Tray for Eva's Cheerios
-Boot for cold days
-Large Basket
-Lightweight
-Folds down compactly
-Footboard for second child to ride on (um, not that we have a 2nd child yet, and um, not that I'm planning on it or anything. um, don't tell nich)
-Infant car seat compatible (once again, don't tell nich)

And can you believe I found the perfect stroller? The Peg Perego Centro Completo. And not only did it exceed my expectations, Eva loooves it. I just took her for her first "stroll" and when we got home, she didn't want to get out.

Like I said, I'm in stroller love.

Coughing
Eva is sick...again. When she gets a cold, this horrible naggy cough comes back. She hasn't been able to fully recover since the New Years Illness happened. Poor kid. She coughs all night long. We even bought one of those steamy machine things. Which doesnt really seem to be helping. And ohhhh, is it just me, or is it a normal to not get a wink of sleep when your kid is coughing. Is this a first time Mom thing? Does it go away in time? Because I am tired.

Where's my triple shot latte? Anyone??

Speaking of lattes, and of course, Starbucks. COLIN, come back to Clayton Starbucks. They NEED you. The last two times I have ordered there, they have completely forgotten my order. And I stand there waiting and waiting and waiting. Until 10 minutes later, they're like "What's that lady waiting for?" And nobody knows because whoever took my order decided that taking a break is more important than serving customers. And, seriously, Colin, nobody makes our drinks like you do. And I know you don't even read this blog, but maybe one of your friends does, and can let you know that White Rock is overrated.

Come back to Clayton.

That is all.

Random
Work is finally winding down, which is so fantastic because I've missed spending time with Eva. We had a fun morning playing with her toys, reading books, and doing whatever else she wanted to do.

Now that I'm home more often, I am realizing just how behind I am with household stuff, and my monster mountain of bookkeeping work. Annd, I still have to file our taxes. Ew. And, no, we are not lucky like you are, we do not get a nice big chunk of money back from the government when we file. Since we are both self-employed, we instead pay a 5-digit tax bill. Double Ew.

In Eva news, she is starting to say "words". Finally. Of course, now that I have announced this to Blogland, it will likely stop. Yesterday, Nich and I weren't paying attention to her, and she bursts out with "Mumm-Y, Dadd-Y". Seriously, when she calls me "Mommy" I melt. This morning I was eating Honey-nut Cheerios and Eva was eating a non-sugary breakfast. She says "Mumma Mumma Mumma" while pointing to my sugar-coated oats, and of course, I cave. And give her some.

What else is new. Has your child ever pooped in the bathtub? Just wondering. Not that Eva ever does. Really.

And in BABY news, the race is on. They don't even know it, but as far as I am concerned it is a race. And here are the blogs you should check EVERY HOUR to see if they have gone into labour yet.
