The wedding
Tonight during dinner, Eva announced that she was going to marry her friend Caleb. Kaitlyn was quick to chime in:

"I'm going to marry Mommy!"

When I asked if maybe she wanted to choose a boy to marry, she said, "Oh yes, I'll marry Daddy then!"

Nich looked at her and kindly told her that he was already married to Mommy and then we showed her our rings, and told her we had a wedding. And, then she got all bug-eyed, and her jaw dropped. "You had a real wedding?! With Mommy in a white dress?! With rings?! Underwater???!!!"

"Nope, not under water. We have it on DVD, do you want to see it?"

Bigger bug eyes, more jaw dropping "YES, I want to see it!"

And then Eva got all excited and asked to see my dress. And, how can I say no to these sweet little girls, with their dreamy eyes.

"My dress is downstairs in storage, should I take it out and put it on? That will be the first time I will have seen it in 7 1/2 years!"

The girls were smitten, overjoyed. I brought the dress upstairs and they followed me to my room. My dress is a Size 2, I was sure I wouldn't be able to squeeze into it. But, I did! Mostly! When Eva tried to secure the final snap, she announced:

"Sorry, Mom, you are too fat!"

Funny girl. I was just happy it was on. The girls helped me with my veil. We took lots of pictures, then watched the video of our wedding.

Kaitlyn's eyes were glued to the screen and she kept saying that I looked like an angel. And, Eva kept going on about how beautiful the dress was.

And, when it was over they asked to watch it again.

So, we did.

And, it was so incredibly fun.

Tucker
My little boy is 11 months old. He eats like a pig, loves annoying his sisters, and says a handful of words.

Lots of important words, like:
BaBa- Bottle
Ba- Ball
NumNum- that's yummy, give me MORE
Dada- His favourite person in the entire world

Photobucket

He even makes the car noise. Like only a little boy does, with a car in his hand, he drives it around and goes brrrrrrrrrbrrrrrbrrrrbrrrr.

Now, my question is, how does he learn to do that? And also, and more importantly, how are those words higher on his priority list than, oh i don't know....maybe the word Mama?!?!

Photobucket

I feed him, diaper him, nap him, play with him. And, all he wants to do is drive his cars around and hang with Dad.

He is quickly leaving babyhood behind, and growing into a rambunctious, fun little boy. I can't believe how fast this baby year has flown by. And, in a few short weeks, I'm going to have a one-year old. Now, that's just crazy.

The Big Red Tractor
Have you heard of Francis Chan? Nich and I are reading one of his books right now ('Crazy Love'), and have viewed a couple of his video snippets on YouTube. He is pretty much rocking our world.
And, now he has written a Kids Book, called The Big Red Tractor. The illustrations are so cute and the story behind it is great. Show it to your kidlets, they'll love it!

Thanks for the link, Dad!

And, here's a link with Francis Chan at the end, explaining the meaning behind it all. Click here.

It's March
This weekend has been delightful, refreshing, energizing, joyful. After what seemed like endless months of cold, dead winter outside, and wading through an onslaught of never ending drama of every kind.... spring broke through. Light broke through the darkness.

It's been a breath of fresh air. For my body and my soul.

We hiked, barbecued, ran, laughed, ate ridiculously tasty pastries, drank even more ridiculously tasty coffee.

It was good. And, I have pictures to prove it.

Kaitlyn had a monstrous week last week. She goes through phases every once in awhile where she pushes every boundary, challenging me so greatly. But, the phase appears to have ended. And, she was back to her fun-loving, quirky self this weekend.

Photobucket

I just love her.

And, I am refreshed. Bring on spring!
