The new kitty
Gisborne came home with us on Saturday, and has been a lovely addition to the household. He is full of fun, always making us giggle, and the girls adore him.

Both Eva and Kaitlyn have been so gentle with him, ooing and awwing, cuddling and cooing. It's adorable. Eva thinks he's one of the girls, refering to him as "Princess". She has attempted to dress him in pink, and has even introduced him to Polly.

Kaitlyn is equally intrigued with Gisborne, and has been gently petting him and is always excited to see him.

She even caught on how to hold the kitty toys, so the kitty would come play with her.

Eva could play with the kitty all day and all night, if we let her. When Gisborne is sleeping, she'll crawl up next to him, cradle him in a hug, and whisper "You're the best kitty in the world".

And, you'll never believe, that Nich (Mr. Tough Guy) has warmed up and embraced the kitty. I often find him playing with him or cuddling with him. And he's even scooped the kitty up from my lap, to steal a snuggle.

Gisborne has brought so much joy to our house. What a sweet little Siamese...

Pictures pictures
Some pictures of the girls....

This is Kaitlyn's attachment object- Boo Boo Bunny. It's so cute, when she misses him, she toddles all over the house calling for him "Boooo Booooooo, Boo Boooooo". It's adorable.

Eva's getting over a cold- therefore many a cartoon was watched today. Also, if you squint your eyes and look in the top, left corner, you will notice a yellow paint splotch on the wall. That is the colour "White Raisin", which I love. But, Nich has voted down. I guess it's a bit bright. So, the search for the perfect paint colour continues...

This is the "no way I'm sharing my snack with you" pose.

Check out our new maple laminate floors! Nich just finished installing them yesterday.

And, that's it for pictures for now. As I'm typing, Nich and the girls are baking cookies. So, I am going to go join in on the fun.

Gisborne
I feel the giddiness and the anticipation of an expectant Mom (no poking fun, now). A few months ago, I went through the grueling interview process (telephone interview, and in-person interview... not kidding) for the adoption of an unborn Siamese kitten. In July, little Gisborne was born. And in eight days...finally...we get to bring him home.

6 days old

6 weeks old

eight weeks old

10 weeks old

I am so looking forward to having a little furball around. Eva is looking forward to it more than I am, and has announced that Gisborne will be living in her room (ha, yah right). Kaitlyn is in love with everything "Kitty" now. And Nich? Well, he's overjoyed to soon have another boy in the house.

All dolled up...
...and ready to go to my 10-year high school reunion.

*hair compliments of Katie's curling iron. Katie, you saved the day (or at least, my poor hair!)

I'm all packed, fake tanned, skinny jeaned, makeup-ed, and ready to go. This is my first time leaving Nich alone with the kidlets for more than an hour....I'm a little nervous. And, he is too. But, I'm sure all will be fine. And, if not, I will be a whole country away from all the wailing and crying. Ha. Pardon my bluntness, but I deserve this break, ya'll! And, I'm going to live up all 24 hours of it.

Happy weekend!

Annnnd we're done
The basement suite (aka gigantic project that took over our lives) is...drumroll please....DONE!

Care to take a gander?

Now, there are two things I want to say:

First thing- Doesn't my husband do AMAZING work? (check out the crown mould, tiling detail, etc) It almost doesn't even look like a basement.

Second thing- Now that Humungo Life-sucking Project is done, we can start eating, sleeping, and blogging again. Isn't this exciting?! I am so excited!!

Afternoon at the Zoo
We got a zoo membership from my parents for Christmas this year- so we get to explore the Zoo lots! Which Eva is pretty pleased about. Here are some pics of our Sunday afternoon adventure...

Kaitlyn got snug and cozy in the backpack. She lasted about 3/4's of the time in there, but insisted on walking the last bit...which made things interesting.

Here is the giraffe, my personal favourite...

I would love to know what they are looking at here. Eva looks amazed, and my Mom looks a little freaked out. I think this is where the Lions and Tigers (and bears, oh my! sorry couldn't help myself) were hangin' out, but I'm not sure. And in the background, Papa is taking a picture of Nich & Kaitlyn...

Looking at the Wallabies in this picture. I love wallabies. Did I ever tell you about the time when one hopped up and hugged me? True story.

She's so cuuuute. I want about five-thousand more babies when I look at pictures like these. I just want to pinch those pudgey, little cheeks.

Me and Kate-kins...

Papa and Kaitlyn playing around...

Eva loved walking the railroad tracks while we were there...

It was a fun trip. A welcome escape from the craziness of the basement renovation. Only one more week, and then it will be done! And three more weeks until we bring home Gisborne!! September might turn out to be an ok month after all.
