Almost Christmas
Christmas is in 3 days!! Eek! We ate all the Christmas cookie baking in the house, so I have lots of baking to get done in the next day or two. But, the presents are all bought, and most are wrapped and tucked under the tree. And, we went and filled two grocery carts full of food yesterday, so I think we're set for hosting Christmas at our house this year.

We are lucky to have both sets of parents come here for Christmas. The kids are going to be in Grandparent heaven. They are so excited for Grannie and Opa to arrive- that's what the countdown is around here. How many days until Grannie and Opa are here? They only have to wait 2 more days, since they're arriving Christmas Eve. We're looking forward to it.

I am thoroughly enjoying Eva's two-week Christmas break from school. I just love laid-back days, I feel like I can get lots done around the house (in my pajamas) and also catching up on lots of overdue playdates. So fun.

Now, I'm in Christmas prep mode: last-minute meal-planning, baking, house-cleaning, and of course, I'm hoping to film the annual Christmas song which will be song by both of the girls this year. Stay tuned for that. Hopefully I'll have it filmed and up soon.

Merry almost Christmas!

Birthday Song for Eva
Eva, this song is for you. Mommy hasn't picked up her guitar in years, but I heard this song for the first time today, on your birthday, and just had to sing it for you.

I love you sweetie-pie, you are beautiful inside and out. Happy 5th Birthday.

Never Grow up
By: Taylor Swift

Your little hands wrapped around my finger
And it's so quiet in the world tonight
Your little eyelids flutter cause you're dreaming
So I tuck you in and turn on your favorite nightlight

To you, everything's funny
You got nothing to regret
I'd give all I have honey
If you could stay like that
(Chorus:)
Oh darling don't you ever grow up, don't you ever grow up
Just stay this little
Oh darling don't you ever grow up, don't you ever grow up
It could stay this simple
I won't let nobody hurt you
Wont let no one break your heart
No one will desert you
Just try to never grow up
Never grow up

My really long disclaimer:
-This is only part of the song, listen here for the rest
-I'm sorry, Taylor, for butchering it, I've only heard it twice
-Yep, that's me in a ponytail, hoodie and no makeup. Sorry. December isn't being good to me.
-I am sitting in front of my iMac, filming this with the iSight camera. I only found out this was possible 1.5 seconds before I did it. As you can see, I have no clue what I'm doing.
-Really, what I'm trying to say is: I love my girl, and I don't mind completely embarrassing myself for her on her birthday.

Happy 5th Birthday, Eva!!

Santa
I asked Eva what Santa was bringing me for Christmas (since she has informed me that she knows for sure, Santa is bringing her a Polly Pocket playset). She told me he's bringing me a Coffee Chart. I asked her to clarify. And apparently, it's a sticker chart that gets a sticker every time I have a cup of coffee. AND, I'm only allowed one sticker a day. Ha!

Oh, and Santa is bringing her Daddy some socks.

Sweet deal!

Oh, and on an unrelated note, have you heard of Groupon? I secretly want today's Groupon for Christmas. A Photo Excursion and Training in Vancouver, sweet! Maybe I should tell Santa.
