Annual Gymnastics Show
The girls had their Gymnastics show this morning. They did so well, and it was so much fun to watch! The theme was 'The Circus'- Eva's class were mimes and Kaitlyn's class was the 'Flea Circus'. The coaches even got dressed up as the Ringmasters.

I got Eva's performance on videotape, but I have no idea how to upload it here. So, I'll share some pictures from the fun event.

June afternoon
Yesterday, the girls and I played in the front yard, blowing bubbles and riding bicycles in the afternoon sun. It was simple, but fun.

We laid in the grass and pointed out cloud formations: "That one looks like a bicycle!" "That one is a frog!"

The joy of the afternoon was soon to be multiplied when an old-fashioned ice cream truck pulled into our cul-de-sac. I have never given into my daughter's request for a cone from the ice cream truck before (dinner spoilers!), but that afternoon I did. We walked hand-in-hand to the truck, which stopped a few houses down for some other kids.

Kaitlyn picked a Pokemon pop and Eva picked the Rocket Pop (I would've gone for the fudgsicle, myself..) They grinned from ear to ear and were soon covered in yellow, red and blue goo.

This is what sunny, summer afternoons are made of. And, I did a draw for the devotional! My sweet, blogging friend, Elizabeth is the lucky recipient of 'Jesus Calling'. I'll get it in the mail to you this week!

Jesus Calling
This morning, I opened up my devotional and it was just what I needed to hear. I figured I would share it here, maybe it will encourage someone else as well.

From 'Jesus Calling', by Sarah Young, she prayerfully writes from Jesus perspective

Rest in Me, my child. Give your mind a break from planning and trying to anticiptate what will happen. Pray continually, asking My Spirit to take charge of the details of this day. Remember that you are on a journey with Me. When you try to peer into the future and plan for every possibility, you ignore your constant Companion who sustains you moment by moment. As you gaze anxiously into the distance, you don't even feel the strong grip of My hand holding yours. How foolish you are, My child!

Remembrance of Me is a daily discipline. Never lose sight of My Presence with you. This will keep you resting in Me all day, every day.

Biblical References 1 Thessalonians 5:17, Psalms 62:5

This devotional is amazing, every day it meets me where I'm at. Challenges me. Encourages me. Spurs me on. I've only been reading it for a month, and it's already transformed my walk of faith in big ways.

I love it so much, I want to give one away to you guys. Leave a comment if you're looking for a new devotional, and this one strikes your fancy. If there's more than one, I'll do a random draw next week :)

We're back
Just wanted to drop a quick note saying we're back from Palm Springs.

Photobucket

We had a lovely time (if you're my Facebook friend, you probably saw the pics on there). It was beautiful, peaceful, fun and I missed my kids like crazy.

Anyhow, I have quite a month ahead of me, so posting will be light around here until life calms down. Happy almost summer!
