39 weeks
I had my 39 week Dr appointment this morning, and got some fantastic news. The baby is in the process of rotating, and is no longer posterior! Woot woot.

Yesterday I had painful contractions, 10 minutes apart, all day long. Accompanied by the worst backache ever. They stopped last night (bummer!), but now I'm convinced their whole purpose was to flip Baby Bean around. So, the day of pain was not in vain. Ha, i'm rhyming. I'm in such a good mood! The sunshine is even out!!

What else is new? I have another appointment on Friday- the Dr. wants to "stretch" me to get things moving if they don't happen by then. We're trying to get this baby out while it's still on the small-ish side, to make delivery as easy as possible. I want the most natural birth possible, so I still want to look into this stretching business. I haven't heard of it before. Anyone else experienced this?

Well, I have the nesting urge. I need to go clean some more. I even broke out the Q-tips to deep clean our ensuite bathroom this morning. I'll leave you with a belly shot..

I don't know if this is what your dr is talking about, after all my experience was 16 years ago.
I had been dilated to a 3 for about 2 weeks, my daughter was about a week overdue. I went for my doctor's visit and he thought if he stretched me I would go into labor by the next morning.
In the office he used his fingers (excuse the bluntness) to manually stretch me to what he said was a 5. It was a bit uncomfortable, but if you were already experiencing contractions probably not anymore than you have already experienced. I didn't start labor by the next morning as predicted but I did by the next morning.
    Good Luck!!

    wow qtips... too funny!

I was "stretched" a bit by my dr, it didn't hurt much, but it didn't work for me though.
    You are looking great!

I don't know about stretching, but perinatal (sp?) massage is supposed to do WONDERS (maybe that's what he meant).

I booked our flights this morning!!! HOORAY!

You are seriously the cutest pregnant lady ever!

Seriously, you are looking SO good! How did you do it?!

Everytime I see your blog is updated I get a little jump in my belly thinking it'll be a "baby's here" announcement. I can't wait to see that one!

my doctor did the stretching thing to me, exactly how debbie described it above. i was expecting it to be more painful than it was and while he was in the process he was saying "sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry..." which actually made me laugh out loud. it didn't start my labour either, actually what did start it was when they broke my water a couple hours later. i went in to be induced and my body kicked in instead, so i didn't have to have any drugs. yay.
i hope it all goes well, and soon! don't nest too hard, kick your feet up and relax :)
p.s. my theory is that God makes the end of the pregnancy too uncomfortable to sleep to get us used to functioning on little sleep.
