3AM Cry-fest
The sleeping thing has not been going well here over the last week. I'm not even sure what to blame it on- perhaps teething? catching a cold? missing Mommy in the middle of the night?

And I know we're not alone. We live in a townhouse, and share our bedroom wall with a neighbouring 6-month old. Who is apparently being sleep trained.

So, at 3am for the last week, like clockwork, neighbour baby wakes up and screams. A few minutes later, Kaitlyn wakes up and cries (even though I am sure Kaitlyn can't hear him- she's on the other side of the house, but maybe it's like in that dog movie, where they have a barking chain that one dog starts, and within minutes, all dogs in the neighbourhood are howling) And a minute after that, I open my eyes and see Eva, breathing on me, one inch away from my face.

We should've gone ahead and thrown a baby block party at 3am, because they were all awake for over an hour anyways.

And I would just like to add that it's just not fair that I already have one crying baby to deal with. But, I am forced to listen to another one (even louder than my own), and I can't do anything about it. I've thought about plastering myself right up against the shared wall, and singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star as loud as I can. I figure it might just shock him into being quiet.

But, I'll stop whining now (even though you are still allowed to feel sorry for me) And update you on life:

-Kaitlyn started saying 'Mama', and on occasion she says 'Dada' too

-Yesterday, when Eva's toy wasn't working the way she wanted it too, she set it down, plopped herself on the couch and announced "That was very disappointing".

-Kaitlyn started getting in the crawling position a couple weeks ago, but no movement yet.

-Nich and I are gong to a Vancouver Giants game next week (as long as we can get babysitters)

-Kaitlyn just turned 9 months old

and the biggest, bestest one of all (drumroll please)

- I am officially at my pre-baby weight! My jaw dropped to the ground when I read the scale, and I am wondering if it's broken, because I sure haven't been eating well or working out. But, yay anyways!

If we lived closer, I'd totally babysit. You could just send them here - put them on the next plane.

Yay for being down to your pre-baby weight! Good job!

Guess that's all stuff I have to look forward to, hey!? :) I'm just glad we don't share a wall with a screaming 6 month old. Only middle-aged parents and one nice, teenage boy so hopefully the crying will only be coming from one little person ;)
And congrats on getting back to your pre-baby weight! I'm so scared that I'm going to turn into a whale by the end of this pregnancy and not be able to get back!!

i love the funny things eva says. like the other day when you came over and she was about to go down the stairs to our door: "i can't do it mommy! (long pause) ...but i'll try."
good job on the pre-baby weight. i think i hit mine after about the same time, totally by accident also, and then gained 10 back when i stopped nursing. sigh.
sorry about the screaming neighbour baby :(

the baby next store thing stinks - hopefully she is sleep trained soon.... then maybe this crying reaction will stop ...

Eva sounds so grown up ~ "disapointing is such a grown up word" WOW!!!

Congrats on hitting that pre-baby weight - I'm trying (rather unsucessfuly) to hit my pre-pharmacy school weight .... may have to get out of pharm school to do that though?
