We spent New Years Eve in the Emergency Room. Thankfully everything is ok. Here's the story. Our baby girl caught a bad cold, and it took a crazy turn for the worse yesterday afternoon. She became inconsolable, screaming without ceasing. She had a fever, and hadn't eaten anything all day. She started vomiting everywhere. And then she would cough and start choking. And wouldn't breathe for a few seconds. It was scary. We started calling around, trying to find an open Walk-in clinic to take her to. There were none open- it was New Years Eve.
We tried to put her in the tub- that always calms her down. She just screamed harder. So we put her pajamas on, and held her, still screaming. Then the scariest thing happened. Her eyes started rolling back into her head, and she would become limp. We yelled her name, trying to get her to "come to" again. I started furiously packing the diaper bag, and we ran off to the hospital.
Long story short, we were at the Emergency Room for over five hours. Eva thankfully fell asleep in our arms while we waited for a Doctor. She had X-rays done of her chest, and it turned out she has an infection in her lower chest.
Today she is doing a lot better, she definitely is up and down though. She's still having a hard time sleeping, because her cough wakes her up constantly. Then she cries, and we rock her, and she falls asleep for a little while longer.
As heartbreaking as it is having a sick baby (and frightening for first-time parents), I am enjoying all the huggles and snuggles I am getting from her. My poor baby, though. It's so hard to see her go through all this. She has been sick many times before, but never like this. I hope she's better soon.

That sounds totally terrifying! I'm so thankful that she is able to relax for you today. Join the sick club, eh? We have had a few ER runs in our life with Hunter but thankfully none as scary as that!
God Bless!
